LECTURE ON DEFENCE CRISES MANAGEMENT MECHANISM
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen LEO Irabor CFR delivered a lecture titled “Defence Crises Management Mechanism” to participants of the Higher Military Strategy and Management Course of the Army War College Nigeria on 2 March 2023. The CDS arrived the College Lecture Hall in company of the Commandant AWCN and DHQ Branch Chiefs after inspecting the College Quarter Guard. The lecture commenced at about 0915hrs following a brief introduction by the Sponsor Participant.
In his lecture, the CDS gave an overview of Nigeria and measures to proactively manage them. He equally highlighted the contemporary crises bedeviling need for the Armed Forces to jointly work together for the common good of the nation. The lecture was closely followed by a robust and thought-provoking interactive session where the Guest Lecturer entertained and skillfully answered questions on such issues as Nigeria’s non-aligned stance, employment of Unmanned Aerial Systems and enhancement of jointness in the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN). The CDS concluded the session by imploring participants to inculcate the habit of finding solutions to both simple and complex problems for the benefit of the AFN.

The Commandant AWCN, Maj Gen BA Alabi, summed up the lecture session and thanked the CDS for always personally honouring the College’s invitations. The event was concluded with presentation of souvenirs to the CDS, signing of the College Visitors Book by the CDS and a group photograph at the College photo stand.
