The Commandant Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Major General Ishaya Buba Maina, led a heartfelt send-off ceremony on Wednesday, 26 July 2023, to honor senior officers who were posted out of the College, as well as Corps Members who have completed their dedicated service. The event, held at the College Lounge, was an emotional recognition of their diligent contributions to the institution.

In his address, the Commandant, represented by the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies, Brigadier General Aminu Umar expressed his deep appreciation to the outgoing officers for their unwavering commitment and service to the College. He emphasized the importance of their contributions in shaping the future leaders of the Nigerian Army and urged them to continue adding value to the system.

“Your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, the Nigerian Army recognizes and rewards diligence, and your service at the Army War College has undoubtedly been invaluable.” Major General Maina said.

During the ceremony, Brigadier General UM Alkali, Brigadier General JIB Manjang, Brigadier General TJ Mackintosh, Brigadier General MO Ibrahim, Brigadier General FO Onu, Brigadier General HG Hassan, Colonel MC Akin-Ojo, Colonel AO Onasanya, Colonel OO Nafiu, and NN Captain IC Ejiofor, Major SI Adesokan, Captain NG Shigaba, Capt BN Aja, and Lieutenant OG Akaniro were among the esteemed officers presented with gift items as tokens of appreciation for their distinguished service.

Additionally, the ceremony also acknowledged the exceptional contributions of three National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who served with unmatched passion and dedication at the AWCN. Dr. Aisha Dauda Sule, Ms. Abu Enema Miracle, and Ms. Atoba Gloria were among the Corps Members recognized and honored for their dedication and hard work during their time at the College.

The send-off ceremony was filled with moments of appreciation, and well wishes from Directors and Members of Faculty, notably Brigadier General UG Yusuf and Brigadier General EM Albara (Rtd) Group photographs and presentation of gift items captured the last moment of the event.
