In keeping with the age – old military tradition in Nigerian Army Schools and Training institutions, and in the spirit of regimentation, The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya recently approved lanyard and emblem for the premier Nigerian Army Educational Institution, Army War College Nigeria (AWCN).
The approval of the lanyard and emblem, which bear the colours and logo of the College, is another milestone in the history of the prestigious institution. It is also the coming to birth of an initiative which has been long coming. With this, members of Faculty, staff and participants of the College will now adorn the new accoutrements on their military uniforms.
The formal presentation of the lanyard and emblem was performed by the COAS Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya during the COAS Annual Conference held in Sokoto State from 5 – 10 December, 2022. The COAS assisted by the Chief of Administration (Army) Maj Gen OW Alli decorated the Comdt AWCN Maj Gen BA Alabi with the new lanyard and emblem.
